How to change characters

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if someone could tell me the easiest way to change actors. I need one actor to disappear and another appear in a different location that is specified when spacebar is pressed. I know how to delete a character, spawn a new one and have it spawn in a specific location i'm just wondering how i tie it all together.
