How long does this splash screen last, and more importantly, do you feel it causes any problems (is a detriment) in selling your games on the Apple App store?
it does not affect the sales unless people are against GS... anyway, as BarkBarkCo said, people dont see it until they buy it. it is a problem tho if people comment the game saying that it has been made with GS, then it tends to affect the sales.
It depends on how large/complicated your first scene is.
From my tests, and depending on which device, its around 2-3 seconds for the GameSalad splash screen, plus the time it takes to load the first scene into memory.
When GS 0.8.7 was out my game loaded in 7 seconds... Now were on GS 0.8.9 and it loads in 17 seconds... Also it's very optimized and I can't possibly get it to load faster without removing features... It's getting worse, not better...
FYI - it isn't uncommon for games to have a splash screen advertising game engine technology that it utilizes. Even some major high budget titles like Grand Theft Auto (renderware) do it. I've also seen Havock and some others in professional console games.
Although, if they removed the 'created with' and just left the logo it would be better in my opinion.
