Hi all, I know there are royalty free sites where I can get sounds, but im just curious to see where you guys get your sounds or if you make them yourselves.
Comments
Kenney.nl has some free sounds with a CC0 (public domain) license, but they're very limited.
For my professional games, I usually turn to audiojungle.net or gamedevmarket.net.
I find that audiojungle has a much larger selection, but the prices at gamedevmarket tend to be better, especially on the large packs.
I've also had guys on fiverr make me effects, but that's a total hit or miss.
Freesound.org has a lot of sounds. Just make sure and check the license agreements.

I make my own or work with folks that do music/sound. Back in the day I'd use a simple app like garage band and a mic and tweak/mix natural and unnatural sounds. There is also a variety of iOS apps for recording and creating effects. Even some of the music synth and Moog apps can be very useful in creating arcade-like sound effects.
