You can pay on monthly basis after your PRO expires, not a discount, but a low fee each month instead
but with a higher total yearly fee so in reality a reverse discount
It's a convenience, not a discount.

@jamie_c is right. It's like paying your car insurance. If you pay it all at once, you pay one price. If you pay it monthly, it's more because they add on a "partial payment" fee or some such. It's very typical.
But... for those people who cannot save up, or who don't want to save up and want to get the pro features NOW... it's a great alternative.
