What is the best kind of sound file?

Hello community,

What are the best sound and music files? Do I have to use different files for music and sounds or can they be the same kind?

    I believe that GS converts it as you import them, but sound fx are usually WAV files and music files are generally MP3's when being imported.

    Sounds get converted to ogg files (an open format) and music gets converted to m4a files (MPEG 4 audio file).
