Has anyone purchased Affinity Designer? (Art program for the MAC)

So I got my new issue of Mac Life magazine and in the review section was a nice little art app called Affinity Designer. The magazine sang the praises of the design app and said that it was an amazing, powerful tool.

I currently am subscribed to Adobe and pay $50 a month for their software. I was wondering if there was anyone out there who gave this program a shot and would like to share their experiences with the program.

If not- check it out as it looks pretty sweet. I am just wondering if I should purchase this and drop my Adobe membership (50 bucks a month is pretty darn expensive).

I do know that one graphic designer/artist I work with sometimes has taken to using Affinity Designer as his primary production tool recently, saying it was quicker and easier to work with than Adobe's applications.

I depend on more than just Photoshop/Illustrator so the whole CC is well worth it for me, but next time I've got some spare cash I might give Affinity Designer a go.

If you're subscribing to CC just for Illustrator, I'd say definitely give Affinity Designer a shot. (And if you're subscribing to it just for Photoshop, you can get that for way less than $50 a month with some of their plans.)

I haven't tried it but it looks really interesting. At least worth trying the free trial for sure!

Thanks guys. I am really contemplating buying that and just using GIMP for my photoshop needs.
