"Amazon will also spotlight the best games in a special section of their Appstore! "
I would assume this is going to be based on download/sales volume correct? I hope its not just based on what a few insiders consider a "best game". Also not all apps are games so would they qualify?
yeah, but it says only people with 10.4 can publish to Kindle Fire, that means it's exclusive to Macs only since the Windows version of 10.4 isn't out.
amazon has a review process as well, so that should weed out some of the crap.
Do you know how long does it take? I wonder, do app technically apply for this promo, if it was submitted in November, but approved in December.
I promise it won't take a month, I submitted one at 8:32 pm est and got a approved and live on store email 5 hours later. I've never had it take more than 2 days on amazon store.
Is there a tutorial on setting up Amazon leader boards been working on it think I did everything right but keep getting "Unexpected error:Invalid API Key" then game crashes during testing when I hit the log in button. I assume this can be tested before publishing to amazon.
This is awesome. I'm going add IAP for Amazon to both my existing games on Kindle and then fire out a few more I've been working on. Very excited! Go GS!
If we submit our game to Amazon before the end of November, but it only gets through the review process on Dec. 1, could we still get pro. In other words, does the app only have to be submitted before November?
On Amazon Approvals: They are WAY faster now. Last year it was 3-5 days, this spring it was 1-2 days. I published two apps this week, both took less than 6 hours.

but was this for Kindle Fire or just the Amazon App Store? That's two separate approval processes. The Kindle Fire one usually follows close behind, but when we first got access to amazon it was taking an additional week.

Never mind I figured it out..lol. I built the API Key incorrectly it's working now.

I should add that they were new versions of existing apps. They were for both Amazon and Kindle Fire, two different versions of the same app.
Issue? * I rebuilt my app with IAP for Kindle. When I submit, it submits fine to the Amazon Android selection but the same package name is not showing up for Kindle. When I upload to Amazon I can upload for all devices at once. Here's the error: "Please make sure the app has a Package Name and that it matches the one used for the Amazon Appstore." -- The package name I have matches the one in the Developer portal. The game is Pararescue if any GS people would like to take a look. Otherwise, I will probably just try submitting through the developer portal tomorrow.
There are two approval steps for Amazon. The first approval is a basic android approval. This one is easy to get. The second approval is for Kindle and the app must meet way higher standards, and takes more time about as long as an iOS approval. I found the kindle process of approval to be a bit more demanding than iOS.
@BBEnk No need to use GameCircle or IAP to get free months. Just publish an app to the Amazon store before November 30th to qualify.
Ok so you can update old games with Gamecircle or inApp or just publish a new game thats not on Amazon and earn Free months..
Also I have two Leader boards in my game now and I noticed when you use the show Leader board behavior you only need to use it once because Amazon always takes you to both anyway so is there any point for using it on too different Leader boards in same game did I miss something?

Shadows Peak is an atmospheric psychological horror that explores the dark side of a player.
I highly suggest anyone taking this seriously to invest in a Kindle and Kindle HD to make sure your apps are at the top of their game.

From my experience it's about 2-4 days. Not long compared to Apple.

That's insightful.

if I use Gamecircle do I have to use both Leaderboards and achievements to qualify or just one?
You can you either one or neither. Just publishing an app to the Amazon store qualifies you for potential Amazon love.
