All graphics in Gamesalad should be 72dpi. But when working with a retina display device you need to make your graphics twice the pixel dimensions of how you want it to display on the device.
For example:
If you want and actor to be 128 x 128 pixels on the screen of an iPad3 you would create the image at a size of 256 x 256 (72dpi) in your graphics editor.
