In the windows version, when i follow the steps of mac version, in the windows version, the character still does not move..

You should watch this video by tshirtbooth..
It will help you understand the windows interface compared to the mac, so its easier to follow mac tutorials on windows.
Watch it and see if you find anything you may have done wrong.
