Photoshop help (initializing Cooltype)

When trying to open a document in photoshop, I get the error "could not initialize Photoshop failed to Initialize Cooltype.
How can I fix this

It's either an issue with a faulty install of photoshop, missing broken or corrupted photoshop resources or corrupt font managment/cache. Adobe has this topic in their forums. This is where you can start:
