Help! I don't know what to do ----Publishing

Hi, I just finished my first app.I have paid the apple developer fee and that stuff is all done.I have the certificate and have been trying it all night.But, everytime I download all thats in the cert is my private key, no public.I was wondering if thats the reason for my question.I have been trying to publish it but everytime I click publish, I get to everything but review where it tells me I need to install the provising profile and two other certs, the one time it worked another error came up saying that the provision profile could copy:the file doesn't exist.Please, help me.If this doesn't work what was the point in paying the fee

Have you watched the videos on publishing? Click the unofficial gsguide link and scroll down to the link that say apple developer. I can tell you are missing a lot of steps. Just follow the videos and you'll be all set.

Nope, still not working.Anything with Firewall?

You don't have all the certificates and profiles right. Watch the videos and follow each step precisely. It has nothing to do with your firewall as it all happens over port 80 which is where web traffic flows. If you're on a mac you have no need of your software firewall to be on anyway as long as you are hooked to a router that is your firewall.

You should have three certificates and two should have keys attached, one will be a developer profile, this is used to make provisioning profiles for testing and the second is a distribution certificate this is for submitting to the app store. The other is the developer relations certificate this has no key. So in your key chain you should have three certificates and two of them should have keys attached. Then you make provisioning profiles and there are two types. one type for testing on the device called developer profiles and one for distribution to the app store, this is a distribution profile. It sounds like you're missing two certificates. Just watch the video and follow it step by step and it will work and take a deep breath.
