Hello everybody, i want to know, when i load a 32x32 image to gamesalad, but i use it with a 16x16 size on the screen how much ram does it use? The real size from the "library" or the size i put ?
In your question, The ram is used according to the image size , so the amount of ram will be like an 32x32 image on iPhone 4 and 16x16 image on iPhone 3GS and under. (when using resolution independence) Don't forget that images are not the only things that takes up ram, every thing in your game consume RAM , rules , images , sound, music actors etc
Thanks for the Quick answer guys, one more question, if i have a 32x32 image and i put it on the screen as 64x64 (i know it will look bad) will it also use the ram for a 64x64 image? it has nothing to do with the Real image size right?
Hey , regardless the size of the actor , the actual size of the image is what takes the ram , so if you have an image that is 32x32 it will take the same ram even if your actor is 1000x1000 , (it will take about 4k ram imo)

1mb for one backdrop is a lot! (Depending on the type of game of course)
Thanks for the info guys.
