Blurry Images When Imported

So I'm creating a background for my game. It's saved at 960 x 640 as a .png, and in my GS project, I have "Resolution Independence" checked. When I import the image, and add it to my scene, it automatically adjusts the resolution to an even smaller size of 106 x 70.674. So every time I scale the image, it makes it blurry and if I change the size from within the assets attributes in GS, the quality is still awful.
Any suggestions? Or is there a setting I missed so GS doesn't change the resolution of imported images?

thats most likely the problem
I had it at 320 PPI for some reason.
