Personally, I think it's incredibly original, looks fantastic, and sounds great too! I salute you, sir, for doing something different! One of my favourite GameSalad games for sure, and there are some great games out there
I got spooked last week writing something similar - not in concept, but in atmosphere. I'll provide some codes when it's done as I think you'd appreciate it
One minor criticism - I would have liked to be able to go 'up' the stairs as well as down. Sometimes you stray into the light and have no way of hiding as the only way is forward.
Other than that, great stuff. Looking forward to your next app

I know it's a bit dumb not being able to walk both ways. But it's also part of the nightmare thing, only being able to go down..
And I don't know if you've noticed, but when you stand under a light, the light bulb appears in the right corner. Try tapping on it, and you'll unscrew the light bulb, making it dark!
Thanks again for your kind words, man.
All the best
Niklas
Is there no end to your genius?
(and no, I'm not Strobanik in disguise).
716 steps!
And you can use the spirals like Mario Kart invincibility - awesome

I left a review and a little bit of a rant about the one stars... Couldn't help myself.
I hope you don't mind, but I left 4 instead of 5 stars so my review would feel a little more authentic.
Good work! Are you working on any more "clay" games?
(if you get a chance, I've got a free game called "Food Fight!")

Interesting though. I now completely agree with the 'just going downards' idea because of the lightbulb stuff. But I didn't *know* about the lightbulb stuff as it's not mentioned anywhere in the app.
Perhaps a 'how to play' screen is needed? It could also explain about the spirals (and anything else you can pick up).
Just a thought.
Don't let an update delay you from making something new though!
Also, I was wondering why you made the game free?
Cheers,

QS, you're probably right about the how-to-play screen. I wrote som instructions in the information field in appstore, but who reads those anyway? (I know I don't)..
I kept it free to boost the downloads a bit, I thought it would be more fun to get a lot of downloads rather than making a little money with few downloads. But the greed might kick in anyday soon
past 500 steps: frequency of monster appearances should be increased and maybe it could be possible for 3 monsters to be on the screen at once
past 1000 steps: a different monster type should be introduced that zooms across the screen
past 1500 steps: monsters don't have to walk across the entire screen they can just appear and disappear but never in the exact spot he is in
past 2000 steps: Monsters could throw things or fireworks could go off which would make little peices bouncing around the screen so the only way to avoid them all is to just wait it off
Also what if aside from distance you also measured time taken. If you have loads of patience you can get very far but for those of us who like the risk taking maybe we could be rewarded by measuring how long it took us to get as far as we did.
What do you think?
Even if you don't like my ideas, great game and bravo on the graphics.
Okay, not that you asked, but I like the claymation part so much, I think more would be cool. Like, maybe if there were objects on the steps every so often that you had to step over... and if you failed, a claymation tumble would be fun.
Interesting thought on comparing the number of steps with the time taking them though. I will think about that. And I agree too about introducing new monsters after a while.
Cheers, thanks again.
For example, I was first going to do candles instead of light bulbs, that you could blow out. Moving shadows and so on.
I re-wrote it and maybe this one will get by.
