When is the new iPod Touch being released?

Hasn't the iPod Touch been in the market for quite a long time?
Long time as in 8 months or so, I know Apple always releases new products around after that time.
Has anyone heard anything?
I want to buy an iPod Touch to test my games! :)
My 1st Gen iPod is not good anymore :/

    Was the release of iOS 5 a way to say the new iPod Touch was released too?
    iPod Touch 5g?

    Because the 4g was released in September 2010 and was the major upgrade from iPod Touch (camera, facetime, etc.)
