Slow pause menu

Hi everyone.

I reckon I'm not the only one having this issue, especially as the pause menu is a scene being loaded.

I was wondering if there is a way to speed this up.

I'm wondering if having an image in the scene that when paused is pressed is displayed, rather than a new scene being called.

If anyone has found a nice, faster, work around, I'd love to hear
