No the canvas size, because the canvas size is the dimensions on the actual image. If you have a 24x24 image on a 43x43 canvas, when you save in photoshop it will save as 43x43
@JohnPapiomitis No sorry but you are wrong it will be image size.Because if he gonna reduces canvas size then it will crop the image.And if he increases the canvas size it will increase the blank canvas area not the image.
Yes but he didnt say anything about cropping though . Like i said above if you have a 24x24 image on a 43x43 canvas and dont crop anything, when you save in photoshop it will save as 43x43
But yes if your image is divisble when u crop to that it will be even. but you cant resize the image to be divisible and leave the canvas without cropping.
Actually i am sitting and using photoshop and trying to do what you are saying.I am increasing the canvas size of a 512px image to 1024px and it is doing nothing but increasing the blank canvas and not the actual image. Actually he is asking to increase the image size not the canvas.
Maybe i have read it wrong.But this is what i understood.
Yeah were misunderstaning each other, your correct about what your saying, im thinking of it differently . If im doing something in photoshop i make sure my canvas size is divisble and the size i want and i make my image in that and makes sure it fits all edges of the canvas. that way when i save its divisble and i dont have to resize or crop anything.
Were talking about 2 different process's, sorry for confusiung
I was just wondering what Gamesalad recognized. If I resized my image to the correct dimension but the canvas size is different, does it matter? I am guessing yes from the posts. So the canvas size needs to be a multiple of 4, correct? The image size, as long as it is inside the canvas correctly, does not matter, right?
I just imported all of my images into my new project, which is a book. All I did was import the images and it says my size is 38MB! The total size of all the images is only 5MB, any thoughts?
Yeah see thats what i figured when i read your post. It does matter about the canvas size, thats the edges gamesalad will recognize. If your canvas is 43x43 and your image is 24x24, and you save like the without cropping, gamesalad will recognize is 43x43 and not even. You want your canvas size to be even and divisible, and the image inside to reach all edges of that canvas with no space around it.

Yes a confusion you are also correct.We were in thinking 2 different process.
@keweworkshop
Yes the canvas size needs to be in correct proportions.That is what gamesalad will take into account

Canvas will crop your image, if you don't want things getting cut off then avoid this.
Image will just scale it to the desired size.
Hope that helps!
