if you're a developer you can get it for free the GM is the real one, but the new one is with new bug fixes. but they are updates too for the GM IDK everyone said they have memory problems or something i coded game salad to work with ppc and i re-created in terminal to intel without the memory problems so i downgraded my memory from 8 GIG to 2 GIG for a test it even worked a little faster in rendering and i decoded it back to 10.7 and memory problems were gone in 10.7 and btw my setup a Powerbook 15" 1,33 Ghz and a Macbook Pro 15" 2008 8 Gig ram 250Gb ram core 2 duo 2Ghz and btw i have a i7 too if some1 need to test something contact me bye
do u guys know if the GM can be updated to retail version later on? i know the previous version can't and I bricked my imac testing it... took 3 days to fix it.. had to find an engineer friend who works at apple in order to fix it... even booting from external or DVD didn't work.

That is exactly why I don't like using developer previews I am afraid I will lose my babies.

Good to know, I was planing to buy Lion, but also to register as Mac dev, so you just saved me 30$ , thanks. So how do you get it Once you registered , do you get a promo code or something ?

Think about it like this. Not a lot of people have macs. So to get decent sales that would actually be comparable to iphone sales you would have to be some where on the top charts. TSB got to number 3 on the MAS which averages around 200-450 a day on average. If that were on the iphone, he would be getting multiple thousands of dollars. Not as many people have macs as iphones and Ipads. Less competition, but less people.
I was also thinking on paying the 29 dollars to upgrade, but I also need the mac dev account. So if I buy the dev account i'll get Lion for free? or is it just the golden master? Can I update the golden master after retail version comes out to fix al the bugs the GM version might have? please let me know
but if I click on the apple logo on the top left screen corner and then software update.. will the dev version update to the retail version once it goes live? Or will I just keep the golden master version?

Guys Mac Developers Get free Beta Versions. Not The Free Release version You will still have to Buy it from the Mac App Store when it comes out.
Mac developers get the full versions for free. No need to buy. Just log in to your developer account and click mac dev center. I can download a full retail install of snow leopard from there and it will be the same for lion.
These are the final retail release you download, not betas, gm, etc..
