GameSalad creator app logout

I notice when I leave the computer unattended for a bit, I sometimes get back and GameSalad is stating "do I want to save" because it is logging out.
So, the app logs into something when it opens...and what does it do other than say validate ownership or such for members?
Do I need to HTTP session and/or packet sniff? ;-)
