Is anyone using "FaceTime" on an iMac (not MacBook!) ? Does it work OK?

Hey,
My friend just got a Macbook which has FaceTime on it.
Last night, i checked and FaceTime is available for 99 cents in the AppStore BUT, there are so/so reviews.

Does anyone use FaceTime on a desk top mac such an an iMac?
