Hey inside man, for a "first" creation, you are off to a good start!
Here is a little something to think about ...
Look at the flock of birds in the right upper corner. They are small and unlike the big ones, appear gray. This is very good as it gives the impression that they are distant. (If you want to go really fancy, you could ad a little gaussian blur ... just a little like 0.5 or 1)
Now back to the larger birds! See the ones that are also gray? Because of their size, they appear closer and therefore you should make the dark as well. This way, you achieve a nice perspective feel for the stage.
The clouds .... well ... just look outside your window that that one
All in all, you are on the right track!
p.s. The brown stuff reminds me a little of watching the news but I don't want to comment about it further because of the seriousness of the event!
