it's been suspected that people scan the forums but don't participate and get ideas (actually have gotten full games) in the past and submitted them as their own .. so yeah a believe a number of people are holding off sharing until almost done which is a shame as many (me included) would love to see what everyones up to.
On another note did you solve your background images issue? If not email me at simon [at] resqwest .net .. I'm not a great artist but if they were relatively easy I can handle my own in photoshop and illustrator.
same here too afraid too show or even say the name of my game lol
will show stuff as soon as testing begins/is nearly done though not able too buy the developer program yet so. god damnit apple WTF is wrong why can't i buy it!! will be fun to see how things work out though

Exactly.
I'd LOVE to show people what I'm up to, but daren't. GameSalad makes it easy for someone to look at what I've done, make a cheap knock-off, and then submit before I'm even ready.
Usually I worried about more 'experienced' members doing this, as some knowledge of GS would be required. But the popularity of templates means *more* people can potentially give it a go!
It's wise to keep your game under wraps like QS has said and wait to show people when you've already submitted it. It's a very wise thing to do, especially with all these templates popping up, it's almost too easy to submit a copy-cat game.
The entire game (and OS! ;-) industry has featured blatant imitation since the beginning. The app store just speeds it up a bit, with a faster dev cycle.
The best defense - just keep coming up with good, new ideas as fast as you can! Because others WILL play catch-up (ketchup?) if it's good enough.
