Put it this way - I've already worked out how to put in an 'upgrade' screen into a game - so you can buy new weapons etc while the game is paused then go back to the game itself exactly where you left off.
It would also, I'd imagine, be really useful as an Inventory screen!

As in imaginary Buy new weapons or did you just let something else slip?
Is there any indication as to how long these patches take traditionally to come out? I'm still in the early stages of my project and would love to use it to optimize some of my current stuff and make it more reliable... so instead of using timers to pause for an arbitrary amount of time, I could ideally pause a function until it meets condition A or condition B.
But, if it's going to be a month or more, I can't really afford to wait for it to drop... so I mean, what are the odds it will be out within a week or two?
They have said publicly that pause is coming in .9.1, and they also said in the "should i register as a Mac developer for the mac app store" to do it soon. So i would expect it sooner than later

No I didn't
I mean, as in, let's say you have a laser on your ship - you reach 10,000 points - you generate an 'upgrade' button on the screen.
Tapping the button pauses the game and takes you to an upgrade screen. Here you offer laser v.2 for 2,000 game dollars you made up.
You buy the upgrade, go back to the main scene exactly where you left it!

Pause works really well in the new build (which some of us are testing). It'll be available soon, and I'm sure you'll all like it.
I do!
