Is there a limit on the number of sound or music files you can have in one game? I added 16 .ogg files to a game and it destroyed my game--couldn't even open the game file any more.
That is upsetting...Maybe there was a corruption somewhere. I've been too scared ever since then to try anything, but I'll give it a shot again and post my findings.
I am working on applications that are centered around sound playback and so far, I have not found that GS or the iPad would have a limitation. Right now, I can play three different sounds against a fourth audio file which is playing a backing track. The instruments are responding natural and I can play quite fast. Once in a while, a sound pad mutes but I can live with that since my apps are not $9.99 a piece.
Are you running other apps in the background? Maybe look what else might have not shut down and perhaps kill that process?
Hard to make suggestions but I would reboot and just fire up GS to see if it works better that way.

I added 10 songs, no problem. I saved and quit. I open the project, ok.
I can't go to the scene editor! I can't preview! I can't do anything--I'm stuck on the home screen no matter what I press.

then add another song, save and quite, and check.
and keep going until it breaks.
then try again and do the same thing, but skipping the last song that cause it to break
maybe you have a bad file.
also, how are you saving these sound files before you import them?
