Top Grossing and Top Paid

So what does it mean to be "Top Grossing" and "Top Paid" on the iTunes Store? I know what they mean obviously but is it just for this day only, or this month or...overall?

    This is what I would say: The more downloads it gets, the higher it is in top paid. The more revenue it makes, the higher it is in top grossing

    Yeah, I would think revenue would include in-app purchases and iAds. I'm assuming the top paid is just purchase price for apps. But I'm just guessing here.

    Surely there has to be a time period otherwise it would be literally impossible for new games to break into the top 10's, ever.
