    Ah, and another thing: If you have managed all the legal stuff on your side, there is still the problem, that the developers have to pay tax on THEIR income.

    I'm not sure that would be the responsibility of the publisher. Unless they're a direct employee, you just fill out the paperwork and pay them as an independent contractor. (That's in the US anyway... but do you trust a GameSalad publisher with your social security number?) The problem is that this is an international community. I don't know the laws across the globe.

    Also, for those following along, it's really not that scary to be a registered developer... at least not for citizens of the United States. You don't have to start a business. You can register under your name. Also, don't forget about applicable taxes. Heh, set some money aside or tax time can be scary. For example, if you made $10,000 in apps, you might have owe like $3,000 in state and federal taxes.

    I'm not a lawyer or an accountant, so you'll probably want to verity this with a specialist. Be prepared for tax season!

    But regardless if I publish my games myself, or sell them through a publisher, I still have to pay taxes on the profit. That's just normal.

    @danny...
    I don't think anyone is picking on you directly...
    But understand that if you are new...and you arrive to the forum with solicitations...there is a high likelihood of skepticism and direct criticism will follow...as this thread shows.

    The community tends to watch out for others...as there are several "less sophisticated" (in business) young adults on here that we may be trying to protect and help them avoid being taken advantage of.

    Its nothing personal...most (including me) are just challenging your motives.

    @Photics:

    That's what I meant.
    I would take a publisher for my app being marketed and/or getting my money without worrying on taxes.

    There are always backdoors in the system, which you can use. For example you could make a contract with the publisher that you work as an employee and you will be paid by revenue share. Then the publisher has to make the tax stuff and you just get your money.

    Of course there are different systems in different countries. The publisher has the responsibility to know the system and get the most out of it for both parties. That's why it's better to work with teams from your own country.

    I didn'd explain in detail, because I thought, it is understandable, what I mean.
    Exactly this: If you want people publsih through your service, you have to offer something extraordinary, which they can't do themselves. Otherwise it has no sense for a dev to go to somebody just to give them 10%

    Yeah I do see your points guys. I hadn't taken all of those into consideration when I posted. I still feel however that it could be a viable solution for some people. But I do understand your criticisms and I know they are not personal.
