How about the Games that were made over the weekend that have 10 scene's and now with the memory change it takes 14 seconds between screens and our sounds and images have been dropped.
Before you would play a scene and it would load all images and sound into memory. Then you can pick a scene that shared those memory assets and there would be no load time. Now when you choose to play another level it re-loads everything, and you have to wait forever till the game is loaded.
Is there away to turn off this method of memory handling?
@TurnstyleStudios, Are you actually experiencing this problem, or speculating based on the description we gave? (Perhaps that description could be more clear?)
The multi-scene games we used to test this change showed nothing but improvement.
No - I already upgraded and did a test. So no speculation. Here's how the game works.
1 level to play with 3 different skill levels to choose from.
Before the update: If the player chooses easy mode - the game takes about 7-8 seconds to load the assets, meanwhile the timers have started, and by the time the game finishes loading, the beginning abruptly starts. (not a pleasant sight)
Then if the player did well at "easy" and they chose "normal" play the game would start up instantly, and they would see the characters properly animate onto the stage.
After the update: Just like before it takes about 7-8 seconds to load and game starts abruptly, because timers were fired during load.
Now when the player chooses "normal" after they tried easy it now takes another 7-8 seconds to reload the scene, and again you miss out on the animated introduction to the characters, and the game abruptly starts.
Why drop images and sounds out of memory if they are shared between scenes?
and one more ( maybe stupid ) question : when i want to update my app in appstore, there is question: "Has encryption been added, removed or modified since you last uploaded a binary for this product?" Yes or No .. witch one i must chose?
Jaxter, #3) Your GameSalad->About GameSalad says you are pro?(did you "reactivate" it so it updates your membership?) OR Are you adding in appropriate sized image in the advanced mode (The advanced button)section?
mail: Ok, we've *hopefully* fixed the problem we were having earlier. Upgrades should now be automatically completed. You will need to reactivate from within GameSalad Creator. Once you've done so, pressing the "About GameSalad" menu item will show you what membership level you have. It should say Pro. Let me know if you have any issues.
Thanks for your patience and enjoy!
