Universal Build from legacy iPhone 4 platform landscape and portrait projects

Hello There,

It has been a while since I have been here however I am back now and it is good to be here.

Lots of things have changed since I last used GameSalad. I have a question.

Can we still create universal builds from old projects that were created from legacy iPhone 4 platform landscape and portrait projects or do I need to recreate the projects again with a different aspect ratio?

There is a post from @Armelline which shows how to create universal builds however it does not address my issue.

I have lots of old games which are all set up using the legacy iPhone platform.

It will save me a lot of work if there is a way to solve this issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

My stretch templates should work fine with an iPhone 4 starting point. I just doubled checked and in my basic testing they add the expected amount of screen space.

For overscan it's trickier. I would expect my templates to work but haven't tested and would really, really not advise going that route. The amount that would be chopped off the sides for iPhone X would be excessive.

Honestly I'd recommend reworking the games on a 720p or 1080p base, with the additional space for iPhone X etc. kept in mind. It'll lead to a much better result. At least it probably will, it really depends on the game.

Thank you for your reply. I really appreciate it. I will do some testing and then take it from there. If I have to rebuild the games then that is the way it is. Thanks again. Cheers 😉
